Fiji touted as next big offshore destination
Fiji is being touted as one of the next big offshoring destinations for US and UK companies looking to reduce contact centre costs.
Global outsourcer Mindpearl Group has already announced plans to set up operations in Fiji this year. “Mindpearl has already undertaken extensive research and visits to Fiji, analysed real estate availability, the labor market and met with local government departments and telecommunication providers,” Mindpearl Group chief commercial officer Alan Graham told reporters.
“Local government is keen to attract investment and job creation particularly in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. Fiji’s position in the world is a great benefit for a contact center business supporting English speaking and western-based consumers,” Graham said. English as the primary language of Fiji with 80% of its population completing both primary and secondary education.
