Dell to close Edmonton call centre
Dell Inc. said Thursday it will close its call centre in Edmonton and eliminate most of the facility’s 900 jobs as it consolidates customer-service operations.
Most of the Edmonton centre’s workers will be laid off though some will be offered jobs at other company locations, a Dell spokesman said.
The world’s second-largest personal computer maker also said it had decided to scrap plans to open a second customer service centre in Ottawa and has laid off an estimated 150 staff.
