Better news for contact centre employers in Australia
In another sign that employers may be gaining the upper hand in the contact centre job market, new figures indicate positions in the industry are among the most hotly contested.
According to the latest SEEK Employment Index, the most competitive jobs in February were contact centre operators, banking settlement officers, manufacturing packers, kitchen or sandwich hands and retail sales assistants. The hardest jobs to fill were for radiologists or sonographers, landscape architects, navy personnel, trademark or patent lawyers and property valuers.
The index, which measures the ratio of new job ads to job applications, rose by 0.7 per cent in February, indicating it was marginally more difficult for employers to fill positions than it was in January. However, SEEK sales director Joe Powell says when looked at in the context of a 4.9 per cent fall in the past quarter, the index suggests long term relief may be in sight for staff-strapped employers.
